WWE’s November 6 episode of SmackDown was pre-taped on November 2 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and included further developments in the CM Punk–Kevin Owens rivalry.

The taping followed the November 2 edition of Raw so talent and personnel could travel to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel, and General Manager Nick Aldis has permitted Punk and Owens to settle their differences without the usual restrictions of a singles match; that announcement was made last week during a sit-down segment involving both superstars and Aldis.

The rivalry between Punk and Owens stretches back several months and intensified after Owens inadvertently cost Punk the Undisputed WWE Championship during Punk’s title defence against Sami Zayn in Mexico City; Punk later retaliated by costing Owens a championship opportunity.

Both men have been involved in a series of confrontations, including the Money in the Bank ladder match in which Owens prevented Punk from grabbing the briefcase, and a No Holds Barred stipulation added on the October 30 episode now allows them to use weapons and take the fight beyond the usual rules.

SmackDown’s taping was also used to conclude the program’s build toward Crown Jewel, with the show expected to feature final face-offs before the PLE this weekend in Riyadh; Crown Jewel 2026 will emanate on November 7 from Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The pre-taped spoilers additionally noted the return of Charlotte Flair and an attack on Jimmy Uso by 946 during the Brooklyn taping.

The immediate outcome of the SmackDown taping sets the card and storylines heading into Crown Jewel on November 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
