Former WWE faction the Wyatt Sicks — Joey Gacy, Erick Rowan, Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross and Dexter Lumis — remain free agents after being released on April 24, 2026, and TNA has expressed interest in signing multiple members, though no deals have been confirmed, sources report. On separate fronts, Penta lost to Roman Reigns in the September 14 Raw main event in Mexico City and received positive backstage feedback, while Drew McIntyre said he has no specific timeline for a WWE return.

The Wyatt Sicks group was among the WWE departures on April 24, 2026, leaving its five members available as free agents. The September 14 episode of Raw in Mexico City featured Penta challenging Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title, with Reigns retaining in what the source described as his fourth defence. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp said he recently spoke with Drew McIntyre at a show; McIntyre has been absent from WWE television since losing to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42 in April.

Rick Ucchino of The Takedown on SI reported TNA has shown serious interest in bringing in multiple members of the Wyatt Sicks, though Ucchino wrote that no agreement had been confirmed. "The Takedown on SI has learned that TNA Wrestling has expressed serious interest in bringing in multiple members of the Wyatt Sicks, but we have not been able to confirm at this time whether a deal has been reached with any of the five former WWE Superstars. It’s also not clear which members specifically are in play for a potential debut with the company, but some combination of Taylor Rotunda, Joseph Sawyer, Samuel Shaw, and Erick Redbeard, formerly known as Uncle Howdy, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis and Erick Rowan, respectively, would provide an instant boost to the TNA tag team division." The report did not name which specific members TNA is targeting.

Penta’s World Heavyweight Title match against Roman Reigns closed the September 14 Raw in Mexico City, and Reigns retained the title in his fourth defence. Lucha Libre Online reported that WWE officials backstage at Monday’s Raw were highly impressed by Penta’s performance and that the company views Penta as a potential major draw for the long term.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said he recently spoke with McIntyre at a show and that McIntyre did not provide a specific timeline for his WWE return, adding that McIntyre told him he misses wrestling and would have liked to be part of WWE’s recent South American tour. McIntyre has focused on acting while away from WWE programming, working on a Highlander reboot, filming a Russell Crowe-led movie called The Last Druid, and appearing in a microdrama produced through WWE’s partnership with ReelShort. An earlier report from Insider noted McIntyre has returned to the United States after completing outside commitments, including film projects and other WWE-related work.

As matters stand, TNA’s interest in multiple former Wyatt Sicks members has been reported but no official signings have been announced, and Drew McIntyre has not given a timeline for his return to WWE programming.
