Yamashita ties LPGA 72‑hole record in nine‑shot CPKC Women's Open win

Miyu Yamashita tied the LPGA Tour's 72-hole scoring record and claimed the CPKC Women's Open title in Canada on Sunday, finishing 23-under 257 for a nine-shot victory.

The 25-year-old Japanese player recorded her second victory of 2026, having won the Meijer Classic in June, and this triumph represents her fourth LPGA win in 13 months. She was named the tour's rookie of the year for 2025 after winning her first major at the Women's Open.

Yamashita held a six-shot lead entering the final day and extended that margin with six birdies in a closing four-under 66 on the Royal Mayfair course, sinking an eight-foot birdie putt on the 18th to complete the round. Her final-round 66 left her at 23-under par for the tournament.

Her total of 257 equalled the LPGA 72-hole record set by Kim Sei-young, with Kim having also recorded 257 when finishing 31 under at Thornberry Creek in 2018. Yamashita also surpassed the CPKC Women's Open tournament record of 262, which had been set by Ko Jin-young in 2019.

Yuri Yoshida (Jpn) finished in second place at 14 under, while Kim Sei-young (Kor) ended the week in third at 13 under.

A trio of players—G Kim (US), Yin (Chn) and Huang (Can)—closed at 12 under. The remainder of the leaderboard included Ewart Shadoff (Eng) at six under, N Korda (US) at five under and Dryburgh (Sco) at four under.

Yamashita's 23-under 257 secured the CPKC Women's Open title and matched the tour's lowest 72-hole total, completing a week that combined a dominant margin of victory with a record-equalling score.
