India have won two silver and two bronze medals at the Youth Olympics 2026 in Dakar, Senegal, which are being held from October 31 to November 13. Those medals come from four different sports.

The Dakar edition is the first time the Youth Olympics are being staged in an African nation. India have sent 17 athletes to the games across 11 sports, the smallest-ever contingent for the country at the Youth Olympics, a reduction the source attributes to a delay and a reduced number of sports. At the 2018 Youth Olympics India sent 46 athletes and captured 13 medals — three gold, nine silver and one bronze. With a notably smaller team in 2026, the report says it would be tough for India to match that previous medal haul.

Over the last three editions of the Youth Olympics, shooting has supplied India’s largest medal return with four medals — two golds and two silvers — while weightlifting ranks second with one gold and one silver. These figures cover India’s performances across the 2010–2018 cycle as reported.

Tanvi Patri became India’s first-ever medallist in women’s singles at the Youth Olympics, taking silver after losing the three-game final 21-15, 13-21, 24-26 to Yi Xin Zhang of China. The match scoreline and opponent were reported in coverage of the badminton final.

India’s medallists at Dakar as listed are: Dhinidhi Desinghu [Swimming] – Bronze; Khushbu Rajakbhai Darjada [Judo] – Silver; Rajkumari Lanchenbi Chanu [Wushu] – Bronze; Tanvi Patri [Badminton] – Silver. The country has won one medal apiece in swimming, judo, wushu and badminton so far.
