Yves Bissouma poised to join Ajax after Tottenham exit

Yves Bissouma, the former Tottenham midfielder, is on the verge of joining Ajax in the Netherlands, a move reported on 15 September 2026.

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder was out of contract after his release from Spurs when his contract expired in June.

Bissouma joined Tottenham in 2022 after a high-profile move from Brighton and went on to make 111 appearances for the north London club.

In his final season with Tottenham he made 11 appearances, all of them in the Premier League, as the club finished 17th for the second consecutive season.

In August 2025 the then Spurs manager Thomas Frank left Bissouma out of his squad to face Paris St-Germain in the Uefa Super Cup because of persistent lateness.

It is understood Bissouma has agreed a deal until the end of the season with the option of a further 12 months, and he is currently in Amsterdam finalising the move to the Eredivisie club.
