Afghanistan and Bangladesh resumed the one-off Test in Abu Dhabi on Day 3 with wicket-taking spells from Mohammad Saleem and Yamin Ahmadzai and a string of boundaries from Tanzid Hasan as play progressed on 11 October 2026.

Bangladesh sent Mominul Haque in at number three during the session and Shadman Islam occupied the other end before being dismissed. The session’s ball-by-ball commentary recorded a mix of defensive leaves, punched singles and aggressive drives as both sides sought control of the innings.

Mohammad Saleem removed Shadman Islam with a short delivery that produced a top edge to deep square leg, where Rahmat Shah held on near the fence. Earlier in his stay Shadman had pulled for a brace and produced a boundary through mid-wicket, and he also ducked under a bouncer before the dismissal.

Yamin Ahmadzai later accounted for Mominul Haque with a full delivery outside off that produced a thick outside edge caught by the first slip fielder, who dived to his right to complete the catch. During the same over the keeper collected a down-the-leg delivery and whipped the bails off, but Mominul remained inside his crease when the stumping attempt occurred.

Tanzid Hasan drove Mohammad Saleem through the covers for a boundary described in the commentary as a "glorious cover drive" and followed that with a sequence of fours off Yamin Ahmadzai, including one that flew over short fine leg and another struck down the ground. Ahmadzai also beat Tanzid with a delivery that "hits the deck hard, just outside off, with a hint of away movement," which the batsman left.

Saleem’s spell featured a variety of short balls and fuller lengths; his short ball to Shadman produced the wicket and an earlier back-of-a-length delivery allowed Mominul to find the boundary through backward point. There was also a leg-side delivery to Shadman that prompted a loud appeal, after which "Rahmat Shah has a long chat with the other players and decides to go against the review. It was pitching outside leg."

Fielding moments punctuated the session: a diving slip catch to the right ended Mominul’s innings and Rahmat Shah’s composure near the fence delivered Shadman’s catch at deep square leg. The live commentary recorded several close calls, edges that landed short of fielders and both batsmen finding sporadic boundaries between tight bowling.

The on-field commentary noted, "This should be the last over before the Lunch Break," as Yamin Ahmadzai continued to bowl into what was described as the over approaching the interval.
