Alexa Bliss returns with Tatum Paxley as SmackDown fallout from SummerSlam hits Philadelphia

On August 7, WWE aired the SummerSlam fallout edition of SmackDown live from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, where Alexa Bliss returned with Tatum Paxley to support Charlotte Flair in a main-event confrontation; the night also featured a CM Punk–Kevin Owens face-off and a confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

Presented as the immediate follow-up to SummerSlam, the episode showcased returning performers, recently crowned titleholders and at least one NXT call-up, with multiple championship matches and high-profile segments booked across the broadcast.

CM Punk and Kevin Owens engaged in an on-screen face-off and exchanged promos during the show, while other exchanges involving Owens and Sami Zayn were also shown, keeping the run of confrontational segments alive after the weekend.

Baron Corbin retained the United States Championship by defeating Trick Williams in a singles match on the card, finishing the bout as the champion.

Fatal Influence—represented on the broadcast by Lash Legend and Lina Fanene—defended and retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, defeating the challengers Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton.

In the main event, Alexa Bliss returned and Tatum Paxley made her SmackDown debut to join Charlotte Flair against the team of Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab; Charlotte Flair secured a victory over Jade Cargill following the assist from Bliss and Paxley. Paxley’s appearance was presented as an NXT call-up.

Cody Rhodes confronted Randy Orton on the program in response to the attack that occurred on Saturday, escalating their on-screen conflict during the SummerSlam fallout episode.

WWE confirmed Money in the Bank as the next premium live event following SummerSlam; the 2026 Money in the Bank is scheduled for October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
