Ankur Bhattacharjee wins maiden WTT singles title and doubles gold in Olomouc

Ankur Bhattacharjee won his maiden WTT men's singles title and, alongside Akash Pal, claimed the men's doubles gold at the WTT Feeder Olomouc tournament in Czechia on August 31, 2026. The World No. 78 defeated third-seed Slovenian Deni Kozul 3-1 (9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-6) in the singles final.

The Indian paddler combined the singles triumph with a doubles victory earlier in the event, when he and Akash Pal beat Hungary's Csaba Andras Szantosi and Poland’s Alan Kulczycki Zalewski 3-1 (11-8, 4-11, 13-11, 11-9). The doubles pairing recovered from dropping the second game to win the last two tight games and secure the title. The wins came at the WTT Feeder Olomouc tournament in Czechia and were reported on August 31, 2026.

In the singles final Kozul took the opening game 11-9 before Bhattacharjee responded with three consecutive games, winning 11-4, 11-5 and 11-6 to close out the match 3-1. The report noted Bhattacharjee tightened his placement and controlled the rallies to overturn the early deficit and claim the title.

The men's doubles final featured an early exchange of momentum: Bhattacharjee and Akash won the first game 11-8, Szantosi and Zalewski levelled by taking the second 11-4, and the Indian pair edged a close third 13-11 before finishing the contest 11-9 in the fourth. That 3-1 scoreline delivered the doubles gold to the Indian duo.

The result capped what the report described as a strong season on the WTT Feeder Series for Bhattacharjee. The Europe Youth Smash (Sweden 2025) finalist had reached two quarterfinals and two semifinals in 2026 before breaking through for his maiden WTT title in Olomouc.

Bhattacharjee's singles crown at Olomouc is his first WTT title and, together with the doubles success alongside Akash Pal, completes his double at the WTT Feeder Olomouc tournament, capping his WTT Feeder Series campaign as reported.
