The closing ceremony of the 20th Asian Games will be held at the Paloma Mizuho Stadium (Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium) in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, on Sunday, October 4, with athletes taking part and India naming trap shooter Neeru Dhanda as one of its flagbearers.

The event comes after more than two weeks of competition and is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM local time (2:30 PM IST). The ceremony will include a Parade of Athletes featuring competitors carrying their nations’ flags.

The programme will also see the main Asian Games flame cauldron extinguished and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag lowered, formally signalling the end of the tournament.

In India and across the Indian subcontinent, the closing ceremony will be televised on the Sony Sports Network and shown live on Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 2, Sony Sports Ten 3, Sony Sports Ten 4 and Sony Sports Ten 5 SD/HD channels. The ceremony will be live-streamed online in India on the SonyLIV app and website with a required subscription.

Viewers in Japan will be able to watch the ceremony on the TBS Television platform. In South Korea, the closing ceremony will be live-streamed on Naver and televised by JTBC.

India finished the continental tournament with 85 medals—21 gold, 27 silver, 37 bronze. Neeru Dhanda won two gold medals and one silver medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

The OCA flag will be handed over to representatives of Qatar, which will be the next host of the Asian Games.
