India begin Day 10 of the Asian Games 2026 in Japan on September 29, opening with surfing, archery and kurash as the contingent seeks to move past the 50-medal mark. Tuesday is the final day of athletics, with nine medal events scheduled and India entered in all nine.

Avinash Sable and Gulveer Singh return to track action, with Gulveer eyeing a hat-trick of medals and Sable contesting the men's 5000m after finishing fourth in the men's 3000m steeplechase. Sable is the reigning silver medallist while Gulveer had finished fourth in the event in Hangzhou. The 28-year-old won bronze in the event at the Birmingham CWG last month. Dev Meena and Kuldeep Kumar will compete in the pole vault for India.

All three 4x400m relay finals on Tuesday feature Indian teams; India are the defending champions in the men's 4x400m and won silver in both the women's and mixed 4x400m events in Hangzhou.

Trap individual and shotgun finals for both men and women are scheduled on Day 10, and up to three Indian boxers could secure at least silver if they win their respective semi-final bouts.

India will contest all five tennis categories on Tuesday, while in squash the Indian women face Iran in their final Pool C match; both India's men's and women's squash teams have already qualified for the quarter-finals.

The Indian competition on Tuesday begins at 4:54 am with the surfing men's shortboard quarter-finals, followed by archery events, and athletes will vie for medals in at least 14-15 events across the day.

India have won 45 medals — including 4 gold, 20 silver and 21 bronzes — and will attempt to add to that total during Tuesday's schedule, which concludes the athletics programme and contains multiple medal-deciding sessions.
