India’s athletes begin Day 12 of the Asian Games 2026 on October 1 with semi-finals, archery knockout rounds, rapid-fire shooting finals and martial arts medal bouts scheduled across multiple venues, including the Toyohashi City General Gymnasium and the Gifu Kakamigahara Stadium.

After Day 11, which featured team compound archery finals, boxing semifinals and wrestling medal bouts, several Indian athletes progressed into high-stakes rounds for Day 12; Arunachal Pradesh standout Roopa Bayor has advanced into the medal rounds. In poomsae competition, execution accuracy, balance, speed, and explosive delivery determine the score.

In archery knockouts, rising sensation Chikitha Taniparthi faces Indonesia’s Nurisa Dian Ashrifah in a 15-arrow match. India’s Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam meets Chinese Taipei’s Chen Chieh-lun, with a victory set to propel Thirumuru straight into the semifinal and the subsequent bronze and gold-medal matches.

Olympian Anish Bhanwala is scheduled for Qualification Stage 2 at 6:10 AM IST; that session also concludes the Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Team competition where cumulative scores determine team medals. Individually, Anish will aim for consistent 4-second series to secure a top-six finish and qualify for the 12:00 PM IST final, where elimination hit-or-miss rounds will decide the individual podium.

Knockout volleyball begins at 6:30 AM IST at the Toyohashi City General Gymnasium as the Indian men’s team meet Pakistan in the quarter-finals. With a semifinal berth at stake, India will rely on aggressive service pressure, coordinated front-court blocking and disciplined floor defence to counter Pakistan’s hard-hitting spikes and remain in medal contention.

T20 cricket reaches the semi-final stage at 10:00 AM IST when India play Sri Lanka. Aiming to replicate the women’s team gold-medal success, the Indian men’s side will look to execute clinical powerplay batting, tighten middle-overs spin variations and leverage their death-bowling depth to reach the gold-medal final.

India’s listed key contenders for Day 12 include taekwondo’s Roopa Bayor, archers Chikitha Taniparthi and Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam, and shooter Anish Bhanwala; the men’s volleyball, cricket and hockey teams are also in knockout action.

India face Pakistan at 1:00 PM IST at the Gifu Kakamigahara Stadium on Day 12; a win would send India into the gold-medal match and guarantees an upgraded podium spot, alongside direct Olympic qualification stakes.
