India’s athletes will contest multiple medal events at the Asian Games 2026 in Nagoya on Thursday, September 24, with a busy schedule across rowing, canoe sprint and athletics. India arrives on Day 5 having already collected 12 medals, including a gold in women’s cricket, historic medals in weightlifting, MMA and soft tennis, and seven from shooting.

The programme for September 24 features a string of rowing A-finals at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course early in the morning, direct finals and semifinals in canoe sprint at the Miyoshi Lake Canoe Course, and evening athletics finals at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium. Several Indian crews and paddlers face medal races or semifinal tests across these venues, while India also fields jumpers and a distance runner in track events.

Rowing opens the medal sequence at Nagaragawa with Olympian Balraj Panwar in the Men’s Single Sculls Final at 5:10 AM IST. The Men’s Double Sculls Final follows at 5:30 AM IST with Satnam Singh and Salman Khan, and the Men’s Pair Final featuring Jaswinder Singh and Nitin Kumar is scheduled for 6:30 AM IST.

The Indian women’s sweep challenge culminates at 7:10 AM IST at the same regatta course, when Poonam, Aleena Anto, Tendenthoi Devi Haobijam and Gurbani Kaur race in the Women’s Four Final. That event completes the morning block of finals at Nagaragawa.

The afternoon session at Nagaragawa includes two further Indian finals: Rohit and Ujjwal Kumar Singh in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls Final at 12:00 PM IST, followed by the Men’s Quadruple Sculls Final at 1:00 PM IST with Jakar Khan, Kulwinder Singh, Arvind Singh and Navdeep Singh.

Canoe sprint at Miyoshi Lake features two direct 500m finals for India: the Men’s Kayak Four 500m Final at 8:10 AM IST with Naocha Singh Laitonjam, Varinder Singh, Arun Singh Oinam and Harshwardhan Singh Shaktawat, and the Men’s Canoe Double 500m Final at 8:30 AM IST with Gyaneshwor Singh Philem and Raju Rawat. On the track and field side, India is represented in the jumps by Asha Ilango and Niharika Vashisht, who “will need to hit consistent runway speed and execute smooth phase transitions past the 13.50m mark to challenge East Asian competitors for a podium step.” Seema Kumari is India’s sole entrant in the Women’s 10,000m Final, scheduled for 5:55 PM IST at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.

India’s confirmed medal races at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course on September 24 are the Men’s Single Sculls, Men’s Double Sculls, Men’s Pair, Women’s Four, Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls and Men’s Quadruple Sculls; Seema Kumari’s Women’s 10,000m Final is set for 5:55 PM IST at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.
