India’s updated schedule for Day 3 of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya is set for Tuesday, September 22, with the programme featuring several key disciplines and a gold-medal match.
India has won six medals so far at the Games, five from shooting and one from Mixed Martial Arts; Suchika Tariyal claimed bronze in the Women’s 60 kg category in MMA on the nation’s first day in the sport.
Shooting has supplied the bulk of India’s hardware: the women’s 10m air rifle team won silver on the opening day, Elavenil Valarivan secured silver in the individual event, the men’s 10m air rifle team won silver on Monday, Himanshu Dhillon took silver in the individual event, and Rudrankksh Patil earned bronze.
Several shooting competitions continue on Day 3, with the Mixed 10m Air Rifle qualification round and final scheduled, and the men’s and women’s skeet events progressing from their Day 1 starts.
Cricket will feature a gold-medal match that commands national attention, with the Indian women’s team set to face Sri Lanka; Harmanpreet Kaur’s side are the defending champions and are described as heavily backed to retain the title.
Wushu provides another medal opportunity for India as Hanjabam Langlentombi Devi competes in the women’s nandao final, with the source noting India’s campaign in the sport has so far been underwhelming and leaving Devi a chance to end that run.
India will also be represented on Day 3 in swimming, badminton, boxing, equestrian, hockey, kabaddi, karate, sepak takraw, table tennis and soft tennis; the nation’s competition day begins at 5:30 am IST with Esports, Wushu and Sepaktakraw.
India is confirmed to compete in two medal events on Day 3—cricket and wushu—while a shooting medal event might be held later during the day.
