India collected 11 medals — six gold, two silver and three bronze — on Day 13 (October 2) of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya. The day's haul came across archery, boxing, wrestling, hockey, sailing and sepaktakraw.

Those results took India’s overall tally to 76 medals: 16 gold, 25 silver and 35 bronze, leaving the country fifth on the standings after Day 13. The 16 golds recorded so far have been earned in archery, athletics, boxing, cricket, hockey, kabaddi, shooting and wrestling, and India enters the final day with multiple medal opportunities remaining.

Archery provided a landmark moment when Ankita Bhakat, Kumkum Mohod and Kirti Sharma beat South Korea 5-3 to win India’s first-ever Asian Games gold in the women’s recurve team event. Kumkum Mohod then added silver in the mixed recurve team alongside Dhiraj Bommadevara, while Dhiraj, Neeraj Chauhan and Yashdeep Bhoge took silver in the men’s recurve team after losing to South Korea.

Boxing yielded three of India’s six golds on the day: Lovlina Borgohain defeated China’s Bao Ziyi in the women’s 75kg final, Parveen Hooda beat Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien-chin in the women’s 65kg final and Ankush Panghal overcame South Korea’s Kim Minseong in the men’s 80kg final. In wrestling, Sujeet Kalkal staged a comeback to win the men’s freestyle 65kg final, overturning a 2-9 deficit to beat Tajikistan’s Abdulmazhid Kudiev 10-9.

The Indian women’s hockey team won the title with a 1-0 victory over China in the final, Lalremsiami scoring in the 10th minute and goalkeeper Savita Punia making a penalty-stroke save to preserve the lead. That victory ended a 44-year wait since 1982 for the women’s hockey gold and secured India direct qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

India’s three bronze medals on Day 13 came from sailing and sepaktakraw: Nethra Kumanan took bronze in the women’s dinghy and Harshita Tomar with Shital Verma earned bronze in the women’s skiff, while the men’s quadrant sepaktakraw team claimed bronze after reaching the semifinals. Indian athletes also competed in golf, with Aditi Ashok, Pranavi Urs and Diksha Dagar in the women’s field and Veer Ahlawat, Saptak Talwar and Yuvraj Sandhu in the men’s; after three rounds Pranavi Urs led the women’s individual event by three shots over Singapore’s Shannon Tan and India sat second in the women’s team standings behind China going into the final round. The men’s volleyball team beat South Korea 3-1 in a classification match and India also featured in women’s rugby sevens, track cycling, canoe slalom and taekwondo.

October 3 is the final day of competition, with archery scheduled to open India’s medal programme and several confirmed matchups: Kumkum Mohod faces South Korea’s Kang Chaeyoung in the women’s individual recurve quarterfinal, Dhiraj Bommadevara meets Uzbekistan’s Amirkhon Sadikov and Neeraj Chauhan plays Bhutan’s Lam Dorji in the men’s individual recurve quarterfinals. Five Indian wrestlers are also due to compete — Aman Sehrawat (men’s freestyle 57kg), Sagar Jaglan (74kg), Deepak Punia (97kg), Antim Panghal (women’s 53kg) and Manisha Bhanwala (57kg) — while Kashish Malik (women’s 57kg) and Jyoti Yadav (women’s +67kg) are entered in taekwondo. The men’s cricket team will face Pakistan in the gold-medal match at 10:00 AM IST and the men’s hockey final against Malaysia is set for 3:30 PM IST; India have already secured at least a medal by reaching the hockey final, and a win would provide the defending champions a retained Asian Games title and the direct Olympic quota for Los Angeles 2028.
