Asian Para Games: Simran Sharma wins 100m T12 in Nagoya in Games-record 12.02

Simran Sharma won the women's 100m T12 at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya on October 21, 2026, setting a Games record of 12.02 seconds.
Simran had earlier claimed the 200m gold with a new Games record on Tuesday, October 20. The 26-year-old, who won a bronze in the 2024 Paris Paralympics, competes in the T12 class, which covers athletes with moderate visual impairment.
Iran's Hajar Safarzadeh finished second in the 100m, clocking 12.30 seconds, and Indonesia's Made Ni Putri was third in 12.51 seconds.
Simran is on a comeback trail with her new guide Shivam after her previous guide, Umar Saifi, was banned for a doping violation. She had taken silver medals in both her events at the 2023 Hangzhou edition of the Games.
The 100m victory on October 21 was Simran's second gold of the Asian Para Games, following her 200m title on October 20.
