Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji to undergo surgery after rupturing right ACL

Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji will undergo surgery after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the Spanish club said in Barcelona on Tuesday, after the injury occurred during the team’s training session on Monday.
The 20-year-old Swedish winger joined Barcelona last year from Copenhagen and signed a contract with the club until 2029. Barcelona said it was reportedly negotiating to loan Bardghji to another club and had previously noted that his rise had been temporarily held back by a knee injury that sidelined him for almost a year.
During the 2025-26 season Bardghji made 28 competitive appearances for Barcelona, scoring two goals and providing four assists. The club confirmed the new injury at the start of the 2026-27 period.
Before moving to Barcelona Bardghji won three Danish league titles and two Danish Cups with Copenhagen. His transfer from Copenhagen to Barcelona was completed last year.
Barcelona said Bardghji will undergo surgery in the coming days but did not give a timetable for his recovery.
