BBC Sport weekly quiz marks one year since 2025 relaunch

BBC Sport's weekly sports quiz will mark its one-year anniversary on Friday, 21 August, one year after its relaunch in 2025, the team said, thanking readers for taking part and inviting them to another 12 months of quizzes.
The quiz returned in 2025 and the BBC noted its first edition featured questions on VAR drama, The Hundred and a wild baseball catch; the easiest quiz ran on 23 April when 26% of users achieved full marks, while the toughest was on 19 March when only 4% scored seven out of seven.
Ahead of the new Premier League season the quiz team has introduced two new formats, Who am I? and Five in Five, and the website says a third format is on the way; readers are encouraged to play the new formats.
Readers seeking more content are directed to dedicated Football Quizzes and Sports Quizzes pages on the BBC site, where they can find collections of past quizzes and related links.
The site also groups themed quizzes in one place, including "All our Five in Five football quizzes in one place" and "All our Premier League Who Am I? quizzes in one place," and offers standalone challenges such as "Football quiz: Name every club in the Premier League and EFL," "Can you name the players with most Premier League appearances?", "Can you name the 10 Lionesses with most England caps?" and "Can you name every team to have played in the WSL?"
Fancy testing your memory? The BBC invited readers to play last week's quiz, to share their scores and thoughts in the comments, and warned that the comments section "might contain spoilers!"
A third quiz format is on the way, and readers can sign up for notifications on the Football Quizzes and Sports Quizzes pages to have the latest quizzes sent straight to their device.
