Brighton agree deal to sign Millwall winger Femi Azeez for up to £15m

Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria winger Femi Azeez from Championship side Millwall on 1 September 2026. The move follows sustained interest from the Seagulls after weeks of negotiations.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 games last season and was named in the PFA Championship team of the year. Azeez has been pushing for a move to the Premier League. He joined Millwall from Reading for about £1m in 2024.

Millwall rejected at least three bids from Brighton in recent weeks as the clubs negotiated terms. Manager Alex Neil had left Azeez out of the Lions' three most recent matchday squads. Fellow Championship club Wrexham are also understood to have shown an interest in the attacker.

If completed, the transfer would be a club-record sale for Millwall. The Lions are set to receive an initial £12.5m, potentially rising past £15m with add-ons. Azeez is entering the final two years of his contract with Millwall.

Brighton’s summer business has been active on both incoming and outgoing fronts; the club have generated significant funds from player sales, including Carlos Baleba's £70m move to Manchester United. Liverpool have been linked with winger Yankuba Minteh.

Azeez would be Brighton's 11th signing of the summer, joining a window that has already included the club-record £45m acquisition of Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic.
