Fulham sign Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid

Fulham have signed forward Gonzalo Garcia and midfielder Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid on five-year contracts, the Premier League club said on Monday (August 3, 2026). The pair will reunite with former coach Alvaro Arbeloa at Fulham.

Palacios is 21 and Garcia, a Real academy product, is 22. Arbeloa previously coached Real’s youth and reserve teams before taking over the senior side in January to replace Xabi Alonso; he left Real at the end of the season and joined Fulham in July.

Gonzalo Garcia, who plays as a forward, scored 13 goals in 51 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions and was part of the squad that won the Champions League and LaLiga in 2024. The transfer fee for Garcia was not disclosed by the club, but British media reported Fulham had paid around £34 million ($45 million) for the forward.

Cesar Palacios, a midfielder, has signed a contract running until June 2031 with Fulham holding an option to extend it by a further year. He made seven senior appearances for Real Madrid, making his debut in the Copa del Rey against Albacete and also featuring in the Champions League.

The transfer fee for Palacios was not disclosed; media reports put the deal at around £8.5 million. Fulham announced both signings on Monday as part of their summer recruitment.

Fulham begin their Premier League campaign by hosting Chelsea on August 24.
