Grealish dropped from Everton squad for Carabao Cup tie after 'breach of club discipline'

Jack Grealish was omitted from Everton's Carabao Cup tie with Newcastle United on Thursday after the club said he had been left out "due to a breach of club discipline". The club did not provide further immediate detail at the time of the match.
Grealish, 31, is on loan at Everton from Manchester City and previously spent a large chunk of last season at the club under a similar arrangement. Last season he scored twice and provided six assists in 20 appearances before sustaining a season-ending foot injury in January. The former Aston Villa player joined Manchester City for a fee of £100m in 2021.
This season Grealish has featured six times for Everton, including five appearances in the Premier League. He also played in Everton's Carabao Cup third-round win over Wolves earlier in the competition.
While on Manchester City’s books this season, Grealish came on as a substitute during City's 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in August and was a substitute in City's 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. He returned to Everton before the transfer window closed.
Everton did not disclose any further details but it is believed it was for missing a training session.
