Harry Brook hit a 15-ball fifty as Sunrisers Leeds compiled a record 241-2 and beat London Spirit by 37 runs at Headingley in the men's Hundred on 4 August 2026. Ryan Rickelton made 94 not out off 42 balls and Mitchell Marsh scored 76 off 37 as Sunrisers rewrote the competition's highest team total.
Sunrisers chose to bat on a flat pitch and Marsh and Rickelton put on 148 for the first wicket, the partnership giving Brook scope to attack. Brook struck five sixes and five fours, including a six over mid-wicket that took Sunrisers past the previous highest total of 226. Marsh reached his half-century off 24 balls before being dismissed with 35 balls remaining in the innings.
Brook and Rickelton added 83 off 32 balls for the second wicket, with Rickelton left stranded on 94 when the innings ended. Brook, who is England's limited-overs captain, finished with a strike rate of 305.55 and his fifty equalled the joint-fastest in Hundred history, matching Adam Rossington's mark from 2022.
Sunrisers hit 21 sixes in their innings — Marsh seven, Rickelton eight, Brook five and Dan Lawrence one — surpassing the previous Hundred record of 17. The match produced 31 sixes in total, the most ever in a Hundred game, and the aggregate 445 runs beat the prior combined record of 418.
London Spirit collapsed early in reply as Jonny Bairstow fell first ball to Reece Topley and the visitors slipped to 44-4, but former England all-rounder David Willey countered with 83 not out from 46 balls to steer Spirit to 204-6. Topley finished with figures of 2-30.
"That was a masterclass on how to strike the white ball," Michael Vaughan said on BBC Two. "A few of Harry's shots had a bit of finesse towards the end, but it was just brute power. It's not easy for bowlers, the pitch is very flat, but London Spirit weren't on it. "He is just brilliant. Sometimes we watch some of his innings in Test cricket and we say, 'Come on, Harry, you're better than that.' "And we don't really give him the credit for the way that he assesses what the bowler is going to bowl to him, and he's got so many options to every delivery. He is a wonderful player."
The victory moves Sunrisers to fourth in the table and keeps them in play-off contention, while Spirit remain seventh. There are four games scheduled next, starting with Manchester Super Giants hosting Welsh Fire at Old Trafford at 11:30 BST followed by the women's game at 15:00, then Trent Rockets against Birmingham Phoenix at Trent Bridge with the women at 15:00 and the men at 18:30; both double-headers will be shown on BBC Two and iPlayer with ball-by-ball coverage on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app.
