On 31 August 2026, Hull City agreed a £22m package to sign Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, and the 23-year-old has been given permission to complete a medical in East Yorkshire as the transfer window nears its deadline.

The move is structured as an initial £13m payment with the fee able to rise by a further £9m through add-ons. Iroegbunam joined Everton from Aston Villa for £9m in 2024, has played 53 matches for the club and would become Hull’s 13th signing of the summer if the transfer is completed.

Hull’s work on the deal is part of a busy end to the transfer window for both clubs involved. The Tigers are seeking to add multiple players before Tuesday night’s deadline and talks are continuing over a loan for Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo.

Everton have already agreed the £65m sale of winger Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City. The club are also reported to be close to signing Monaco striker Folarin Balogun.

Further discussions at Everton include approaches for Manchester City winger Jack Grealish and Fulham defender Kenny Tete. Separate negotiations over a return for Richarlison from Tottenham have stalled and his arrival on Merseyside is now not expected to happen.

Iroegbunam is poised to leave Hill Dickinson Stadium and will undergo the medical in East Yorkshire as both clubs aim to finalise paperwork ahead of Tuesday night’s transfer deadline.
