India finish top of Group A with 37-21 win over Chinese Taipei in Asian Games kabaddi

India maintained their unbeaten run in the Asian Games 2026 men's kabaddi group stage with a 37-21 victory over Chinese Taipei at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya on Thursday morning. The result completed India’s Group A programme in the tournament.

India began the match on the front foot as Aslam Inamdar and Rahul Sethpal combined effectively on the right corner to pressure Chinese Taipei’s raiders. Sethpal’s ankle holds were particularly effective in the opening exchanges and helped India inflict an early All-Out. Chinese Taipei replied at times with thigh holds and Super Tackles to remain competitive. India took a 23-11 lead into half-time.

After the interval Chinese Taipei sought bonus points while India turned to Devank Dalal and Ayan Lohchab to find touches and preserve the margin. Chung-mao Chang produced an ankle hold for Taipei as they tried to reduce the deficit. India’s raiders then increased attacking pressure to restore momentum and secure another All-Out.

With the clock running down India remained composed in defence, limiting Chinese Taipei’s scoring opportunities, while the raiders continued to add points to the board. That collective control allowed India to see out the match and record the victory.

India’s scoring included three bonus points and six All-Out points, while Chinese Taipei registered nine bonus points and two Super Tackles. The win was India’s fourth consecutive victory at the Asian Games 2026.

India finished top of Group A and will advance to the semi-finals on 25 September.
