India take bronze in women's skeet team at Asian Games 2026

On Wednesday in Aichi-Nagoya at the Asian Games 2026, the Indian trio of Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze in the women's skeet team event with a combined qualification score of 331.

The event concluded after a three-day qualification phase, with China claiming gold on 357 and Kazakhstan taking silver on 336; this bronze was India’s first skeet medal at this edition of the Games.

India’s team totals across the five qualification rounds progressed as follows: 67 after round one, 132 after round two, 196 after round three, 266 after round four and a final 331 after round five.

At the start of the final day India occupied third place on 266, trailing China on 287 and Kazakhstan on 274 — a gap of 21 points to the leaders and eight to the second-placed team, which the report said left little margin for error heading into the final round.

On the individual front Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon both advanced to the women's skeet individual final, finishing joint eighth with identical scores of 111; Parinaaz’s round-by-round tally was 23, 44, 65, 89 and 111, while Raiza recorded 25, 46, 68, 92 and 111. Maheshwari Chauhan finished 12th with 109, shooting 19, 42, 63, 85 and 109 across the five rounds.

With this bronze, India’s shooting medal tally at the Aichi-Nagoya Games reached six — four silver and two bronze. The other five medals came from rifle events: Himanshu Dhillon won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle, Elavenil Valarivan won silver in the women’s 10m air rifle, India secured two additional silvers in the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle team events, and Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil earned bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle.
