India v Thailand in men's kabaddi semi-final at Asian Games 2026 on 25th September

India will meet Thailand in a men's kabaddi semi-final at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan on 25th September. India enter the match on a winning streak.

India are the only unbeaten nation in Group A, having won all four of their games. They began with a 49-24 triumph over Japan and followed with a 63-31 victory against South Korea. India then beat Bangladesh 48–25 and finished the league-stage campaign with a 37–21 win over Chinese Taipei.

Thailand also enjoyed an impressive group run, winning their opening three encounters against Nepal, Malaysia and Pakistan. In their final league match Iran handed them an 83-27 defeat. It is the highest number of points conceded in a single game by any country in this year’s iteration of the Asian Games.

This is the first time Thailand have reached the knockout stage in this tournament since making their debut in 1998. The team will have to work on the mistakes Iran exposed as they take on tournament favourites India in the semi-final 1. Thailand will play Iran in the other semi-final.

The semi-final between India and Thailand is scheduled for 25th September at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan.
