India's 661-member contingent at the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China, held from September 23 to October 8, 2023, returned with 106 medals — 28 gold, 38 silver and 40 bronze — becoming the first Indian team to surpass 100 medals at the Games. The delegation competed in 35 sports and entered the Games under flagbearers Harmanpreet Singh and Lovlina Borgohain.

India has participated in every edition of the Asian Games since the event began in 1951, and the Hangzhou campaign produced the country's best-ever medal tally. Indian athletes performed across a broad range of disciplines, contributing to the record overall haul.

Athletics supplied the largest number of medals for India, with 29 in total comprising six golds, 14 silvers and nine bronzes.

Shooting generated the most gold medals for India, delivering seven golds alongside nine silvers and six bronzes.

Indian archers won five golds, two silvers and two bronzes at the Games; within archery, Jyothi Surekha and Ojas Deotale each secured three gold medals in compound events.

Rifle shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar finished with two golds, one silver and one bronze, and squash player Harinder Pal Sandhu also won two gold medals. Fifteen other Indian athletes won gold medals across various sports at the Asian Games 2022.
