Indira Gandhi Stadium receives Rs 20 crore revamp ahead of BWF World Championships
The Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi has undergone a Rs 20 crore revamp ahead of the BWF World Championships as the event returns to India after 17 years.
Organisers, responding to incidents involving pigeons and monkeys that made headlines at the India Open in January, have installed double doors, noise machines and a bird‑repellent gel.
A dedicated four-man team of monkey whisperers has been placed as the last line of defence.
