Japan Open 2026: Alcaraz headlines in Tokyo as broadcast and streaming plans detailed

The ATP Japan Open 2026 returns to the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo from 30 September to 6 October as an ATP 500 event, with reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz the player to watch.

Played on outdoor hard courts, the tournament features Alcaraz, the World No. 3, who is continuing his comeback from a wrist injury after recently competing at the US Open and the Laver Cup; he opens against the USA’s Alex Michelsen, who made his first major quarter-final in New York. The entry list also includes Tommy Paul, Lorenzo Musetti and the returning Holger Rune.

The bottom half of the draw is headlined by Frances Tiafoe, who faces Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the opening round. Tiafoe’s seeded quarter-final opponent is Monaco’s Valentin Vacherot, last year’s Shanghai Masters champion. Nineteen-year-old Rafael Jodar of Spain is another prospect drawn into that section.

Indian viewers can watch the ATP 500 event on Tennis Channel and Fancode; there is no official partner for the live telecast. UK coverage will be available live on Sky Sports, with streaming on Discovery+. In the United States, ESPN and Tennis Channel will broadcast the tournament, with streaming provided by ESPN+ and Fubo.
