Leylah Fernandez beats Talia Gibson to win WTA Singapore Open 2026, earns $185,500

Canada’s Leylah Fernandez beat Australia’s Talia Gibson 7-5, 6-0 to win the WTA Singapore Open 2026 title on Sunday. She collected $185,500 for the victory.

The triumph was Fernandez’s sixth career WTA title and her first since the Japan Open last year. She saved a set point on her own serve at 5-4 in the opening set and finished the match in one hour and 38 minutes. Fernandez dropped just a single set over the course of the tournament. En route to the final she beat top seed and French Open champion Mirra Andreeva in the quarter-finals and recovered from a set down to defeat Roland Garros runners-up Maja Chwalinska in the semi-finals.

For Gibson it was a maiden WTA final that fell just short.

In doubles, Erin Routliffe and Aldila Sutjiadi defeated Tang and Xu 6-3, 6-2 to be crowned champions.

Fernandez was gracious in victory and was full of praise for Gibson during the trophy presentation: “You’re an amazing player and an even better person, so congratulations”, she said.

The WTA Singapore Open 2026 offered a total prize money pool of $1,206,446. Fernandez jumped to No. 26 in the rankings and Gibson reached a new career-high of No. 37.
