Liverpool make approach for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool have made an approach to Brighton to sign winger Yankuba Minteh in this summer's transfer window. Minteh is currently recovering from a leg injury sustained in a friendly against Roma earlier this month.
The 22-year-old Gambia international has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 73 appearances for the Seagulls. He joined Brighton from Newcastle for £30m in 2024. Minteh plays primarily on the right wing.
Reds boss Andoni Iraola has made strengthening Liverpool's wide attacking options the priority for the remainder of the transfer window following Mohamed Salah's departure. That priority covers the remainder of the transfer window. The club will continue to evaluate multiple targets to address those wide attacking needs.
Liverpool signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna earlier this summer for £34m. Munoz can play as a winger or through the middle. His arrival was part of the club's summer transfer activity.
Paris St-Germain's Bradley Barcola remains a priority for Liverpool. The 23-year-old France winger is open to moving to Anfield. The two clubs are currently too far apart on valuation. PSG are holding out for a fee in the region of £145m while Liverpool would be more willing to strike a deal closer to the £100m mark.
Liverpool will continue to test the market for wide attacking options for the remainder of the transfer window. Negotiations over targets such as Barcola and approaches like the one to Brighton for Minteh are ongoing and will shape the club's activity before the window closes.
