Manchester City suffered a 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on November 7, 2026, marking their third straight Premier League loss. The result left City six points adrift of leaders Arsenal after Arsenal beat Hull 1-0.

City had begun the campaign with seven successive wins before this reversal at the City Ground. It might be too early to start talking about an on-field crisis at Manchester City, even though the team has now lost three league matches in a row. City coach Enzo Maresca was described in the report as certainly not panicking.

Forest opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Jair Cunha capitalised on a turnover by City defender Josko Gvardiol, sprinted forward and slid the ball into the bottom-left corner. Liam Delap, a Manchester City academy graduate, doubled Forest's lead in the 18th minute after sprinting from inside his own half between two defenders and firing into the net; Forest had not scored at home earlier in the season before this match.

Manchester City reduced the deficit early in the second half when Jeremy Doku chased a long ball down the left and sent in a cross that was deflected into Rayan Cherki's path; Cherki drove the ball into the top-left corner. Forest restored their two-goal cushion in the 74th minute as Delap finished a rapid counterattack with a shot that went in off the inside of the far post, prompting coach Oliver Glasner to sprint half the length of the field to celebrate with his players.

“It will be fatigued tomorrow but I can be because it's the international break so I can have a rest!” Glasner told the BBC, adding earlier in the same remark: “One of my best running stats, I guess,” according to the report. The victory was Forest's second of the season and moved them two points clear of the relegation zone, with Manchester United dropping into the bottom three ahead of their Sunday, November 8, match against Aston Villa.

Elsewhere, Arsenal secured a 1-0 win over Hull when Martin Ødegaard scored in the 72nd minute after Noni Madueke cut in from the right and Konstantinos Tzolakis parried his effort only as far as the captain, who slammed home the loose ball. Leeds recorded a 1-0 victory over Tottenham when substitute Noah Okafor, on the field for 97 seconds, finished in the 79th minute after a Dominic Calvert-Lewin header and a Harry Wilson touch put the ball into his path; the win was Leeds' first in almost two months and moved them into eighth, two points above Spurs.

Tottenham complained about a dangerous 34th-minute tackle by Jayden Bogle on Mathys Tel, with Bogle's studs landing on the trailing ankle and leaving Tel writhing in pain; a lengthy VAR review for a possible red card ended with no action and Tel eventually came off a few minutes later. Other results included Newcastle drawing 1-1 at Fulham and non-league Macclesfield losing 3-0 at Mansfield in the FA Cup first round after Macclesfield had famously knocked out holder Crystal Palace in last season's competition.

“We are conceding too many goals unfortunately and we need to improve that,” Maresca told the BBC. “Use the international break to understand why and try to avoid in the future. Always concerned but we need balance — seven wins in a row then three (defeats) in a row. Need the balance. No panic. We need to understand but no panic.”
