Missing British athletics coach Leon Baptiste held in Marrakech prison

Leon Baptiste, a 41-year-old British Athletics coach, is being held in a prison in Marrakech after being uncontactable since visiting Morocco around two months ago.

He is serving a custodial sentence in Morocco.

Baptiste, who coaches a number of elite athletes, is believed to have gone to Morocco for the weekend with friends; as of last weekend neither his athletes nor the UK Athletics officials who pay him as a Loughborough-based consultant had heard from him and messages to his phone were not returned.
