On August 25, 2026, Indian Super League club Mumbai City FC announced the signing of Colombian centre-forward Wilmar Jordán Gil on a one-year contract running until the end of the 2026-27 season, the club said. Jordán joins from Malaysian side Immigration FC, where he scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in the most recent campaign.

Jordán began his senior career in Colombia before moving to Venezuela, where he scored 19 goals in his first season with Monagas. He later represented Gyeongnam and Seongnam in South Korea and moved to Bulgarian side Litex Lovech, netting 29 goals in 54 appearances and finishing as the Bulgarian top-flight’s joint-top scorer in the 2013-14 season. After further spells in Portugal, Colombia and Venezuela he moved to India in 2022, playing for NorthEast United FC, Punjab FC and Chennaiyin FC and scoring 26 goals across three Indian Super League campaigns; he was also the 2023 Super Cup top scorer with seven goals.

Wilmar Jordán Gil, Forward of Mumbai City, stated that. “Mumbai is a city with incredible character and energy, and I am very excited to have the opportunity to represent it on the football pitch. I am really looking forward to this new chapter with Mumbai City. I want to bring my personality and style of football to the team, enjoy every moment, and hopefully create some special memories along the way.”

Manolo Márquez, Head Coach of Mumbai City, said. “Jordán is a player with strong physical qualities, intensity, and a highly competitive mentality. He gives us another attacking option and adds a different dimension to the squad. We are looking forward to working with him and helping him settle in and make a valuable contribution to the team.”

Mumbai City’s transfer activity ahead of the ISL 2026-27 season has included several changes: the club parted ways with Joni Kauko, Nuno Reis, Jorge Ortiz and Pereyra Diaz, while retaining Vikram Partap Singh, Sahil Panwar and Ahan Prakash. On the domestic front they added Muhammed Ajsal from Kerala Blasters FC and Ashish Sibi from Dempo, and saw Phurba Lachenpa move to East Bengal FC.

The Islanders have also bolstered their foreign contingent this window by signing Sergio Llamas, Carlos Delgado and Uruguayan forward Leandro Otormín, with Jordán the latest of four consecutive foreign recruits. The club highlighted Jordán’s finishing, strong presence in the box and his experience of Indian football as reasons for the signing.

Jordán’s one-year contract covers the remainder of the 2026-27 season, placing him in Mumbai City’s squad as they finalise preparations for the upcoming ISL 2026-27 campaign.
