Natarajan credits Sreenath Aravind after two for 24 in Dindigul TNPL game

Natarajan credited former India and Karnataka left-arm pacer Sreenath Aravind after recording his best figures of this TNPL, two for 24 in four overs for iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans against Vida Kovai Kings in Dindigul on August 25, 2026. He said a slower bouncer he has developed was the key variation he used in the death overs.

“I’ve been working with him for the last three years. I worked with him even before going to the IPL this year. In modern cricket, batters easily start hitting whatever you bowl at the death. It’s very difficult for us to survive with just one type of ball. So, I felt that having a slower bouncer would be useful. I have worked on it for two years, and it is better now,” Natarajan said.

The slower bouncer accounted for two wickets in the match, dismissing R.S. Ambrish and Shahrukh Khan in the death overs, figures that helped Natarajan finish with two for 24 from his four overs.

Natarajan described his work with Aravind as attention to the finer points of fast bowling, focusing on creating angles for right-hand and left-hand batters, correcting technical errors and spotting things a bowler may not notice in himself.

“Even if I’m coming back from an injury, there may be some small technical mistake that I don’t notice, but he does. That can make a big difference,” Natarajan said.

Natarajan added that he recovered from a shoulder injury (a collarbone fracture) last year and worked with Aravind during that period; Aravind visited his ground in Chinnappampatti, Salem last year and worked with him for around four days, and Natarajan said the communication between them made those sessions convenient and effective.
