Pakistan collect 10 medals at Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026

Pakistan finished the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 with 10 medals — two silver and eight bronze.
The tally represented a marked improvement on Hangzhou 2022, where Pakistan placed 31st with three medals (no gold, one silver, two bronze). It was Pakistan’s best return at the Asian Games since 2002, and surpassed the counts from Guangzhou 2010 (eight), Incheon 2014 (five), Jakarta 2018 (four) and 2006 (four); however, the country did not secure a gold medal in Aichi-Nagoya.
Squash produced Pakistan’s largest contribution, with a silver in the men’s team event and two individual bronzes. Noor Zaman and Mohammad Ashab Irfan both lost in the men’s singles semi-finals — Noor Zaman 0-3 to Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng and Irfan to India’s Abhay Singh — and each claimed a bronze. The men’s team had beaten South Korea in the quarter-finals to guarantee a medal, then recovered in the semi-final against Hong Kong after Noor Zaman lost the opening rubber 3-1 to Tsz Kwan Lau, with Ashab Irfan and Nasir Iqbal completing a 2-1 comeback; Malaysia won the final 2-0, leaving Pakistan with silver and a defence of its previous edition’s team result.
The men’s hockey side lost 4-3 to India in the semi-final despite mounting a comeback after falling 3-0, and then recovered to win bronze against South Korea. Korea led 3-1 after 25 minutes of the bronze match, but Pakistan scored three times in the final quarter, including two goals from Rana Waheed in the 52nd and 54th minutes, to prevail 5-3.
Pakistan’s volleyball team ended a 64-year wait for an Asian Games medal by beating China 3-0 in the bronze match after a semi-final defeat to Iran; the team had also defeated India in the quarter-finals. The bronze was Pakistan’s first volleyball podium finish since Jakarta 1962.
Both national cricket teams reached the podium after failing to do so at Hangzhou 2022: the women’s side took bronze while the men’s team lost the final to India and settled for silver. Hasan Nawaz’s 96 in the men’s tournament provided hope for Pakistan but he received very little support from the other end.
Ghulam Mustafa Bashir won bronze in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol on October 1, qualifying sixth with 578 and holding his nerve in the final; it was Pakistan’s first shooting medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Games and came after six of the country’s nine shooters reportedly missed the competition because they could not get NOCs. Asim Khan claimed bronze in the men’s 60 kg modern MMA by beating Cambodia’s Sopanha Pheng, and the PUBG Mobile team secured a historic bronze. Paris Olympics gold medallist Arshad Nadeem failed to reach the podium despite a season-best throw of 80.29m.
Pakistan finished 29th on the final medal table at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with 10 medals; the last time the country won more than 10 medals at the Asian Games was in Busan 2002, when it collected 13 medals — one gold, six silver and six bronze.
