Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest in south London on 11 October 2026 in the Premier League, with Dan Ndoye opening the scoring and Daichi Kamada, Jefferson Lerma and Yéremy Pino turning the match in Palace’s favour. The game was marked by Oliver Glasner’s return to the opponents’ dugout and a strong showing from goalkeeper Walter Benítez.

Glasner, who left Palace in the summer and later joined Nottingham Forest, received a rapturous reception from the home supporters before kick-off while Forest fans taunted the hosts with “We’ve got Ollie Glasner”. The encounter followed a backdrop of bitterness between the clubs after Palace’s demotion from the Europa League last season and a controversial banner in a meeting last August; Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was conspicuously absent from the directors’ box and is suing Palace and “persons unknown”, a supporters’ group thought to be involved has since disbanded. Roberto De Zerbi’s successor at Palace, Pierre Sage, registered his first home Premier League victory since taking over from Glasner in the summer.

Forest took the lead early when Dan Ndoye was handed a goal in the third minute after Anan Khalaili’s weak header presented him with a chance. Forest maintained pressure thereafter, with Jaydee Canvot losing possession that allowed Morgan Gibbs-White to test Walter Benítez and Jørgen Strand Larsen seeing a shot repelled by substitute goalkeeper Matz Sels. Axel Disasi’s suspension forced Jefferson Lerma into a makeshift defensive role for Palace.

Benítez produced a double save to deny Liam Delap from close range after Gibbs-White’s effort struck the crossbar, and Delap later missed a headed chance, but Palace levelled before half-time when Daichi Kamada scrambled home inside the six-yard area after a pass from Strand Larsen deflected into his path; that was Kamada’s first Premier League goal in his 68th appearance. From the resulting pressure, Tyrick Mitchell saw a volley tipped over and from the ensuing corner Lerma bundled the ball home as it squirmed through Matz Sels and over the line, giving Palace the lead going into the interval.

The second half featured further set-piece danger from both sides, Palace escaping when a Gibbs-White header was deflected onto the post by Mitchell and Forest briefly clearing a Lerma-instigated scramble. Quinten Timber’s pass was diverted into the path of Strand Larsen and Yéremy Pino reacted to score from the rebound, then later provided a pass that Strand Larsen could not convert past Sels. Pino’s late strike prompted Palace supporters to sing “You’re getting sacked in the morning” aimed at Glasner.

Ndoye and Neco Williams had late opportunities for Forest but were unable to alter the outcome, and the visitors finished the match unable to recover after Palace’s turnaround. Glasner left the pitch clearly displeased at half-time and Forest’s response following the equaliser was described in the report as a capitulation that will cause concern for the club and owner Marinakis.
