Pocognoli’s Scotland draw 0-0 in Ljubljana; Israel game goes ahead after Irish players’ vote

Sebastien Pocognoli’s reign with Scotland began with a 0-0 draw against Slovenia in Ljubljana yesterday afternoon, the matchday live bulletin reported.

The match was played under blue skies at a dainty stadium and Scotland produced a more promising second-half display; by full time Slovenia were grateful for their point and Scotland’s players received applause.

Scott McTominay was missing, and the result was described as a decent first result for Steve Clarke’s successor that gives Scotland a platform to build on before games against Switzerland and North Macedonia in Group B1.
