Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the third and final ODI against the West Indies after sustaining a left hamstring injury during the second match in Guwahati on Wednesday, and the BCCI's selection committee has named Anshul Kamboj as his replacement for the match in New Chandigarh on Saturday. Washington Sundar has been withdrawn from India's squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the West Indies, with Naman Dhir named as his replacement.

Prasidh bowled only five overs in the second ODI and finished with figures of 1/45 as the West Indies posted 405/7, their highest total in the series; India chased down the target in 43.3 overs with eight wickets in hand to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Prasidh will now proceed to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for rehabilitation.

Anshul Kamboj, who is currently playing for India A in the unofficial Test series against Australia A in Puducherry, will join the India squad in Chandigarh. He bowled 17.3 overs in the first innings of the ongoing four-day match and took three wickets, and he bowled only two overs in the second innings before being released to join the senior squad following Prasidh's injury. Kamboj made his Test debut in Manchester last year but is yet to be capped by India in either of the two white-ball formats and will now have an opportunity to make his ODI debut against the West Indies.

The decision to withdraw Washington Sundar from the T20I series was taken with India's upcoming two-Test series against New Zealand in mind. With the Ranji Trophy season beginning on October 11, Washington will get an opportunity to play red-ball cricket for Tamil Nadu and prepare for the Test series; the first Test against New Zealand begins in Wellington on November 19. The selectors want Washington to get some red-ball cricket under his belt before the two-Test series, and Washington—currently representing India at the Asian Games in Japan—has been withdrawn from the West Indies T20I series.

Naman Dhir recently made his ODI debut against the West Indies in Trivandrum and is yet to make his international T20I debut. He has scored 1,222 runs in 61 T20 matches at a strike rate of 156.26 and has also taken eight wickets at an economy rate of 9.40. Dhir featured in all 14 matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, scoring 318 runs at a strike rate of 147.22, including two half-centuries.

Squads named include: Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (vice-captain, wicketkeeper), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Naman Dhir, and Anshul Kamboj. Another listed group includes: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Tilak Varma (vice-captain), Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav, and Naman Dhir.

The five-match T20I series against the West Indies begins in Lucknow on October 6.
