Ranji Trophy: Mumbai retain squad for Elite Group D match against Haryana

Mumbai retained the squad for the Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match against Haryana at the Sharad Pawar academy ground, to be played from Monday, the selection committee chaired by Rajesh Pawar announced on Thursday. The committee decided to stick with the same set of 15 players who had travelled to Bilaspur.

Mumbai had travelled to Himachal Pradesh at the start of the campaign and earned its second consecutive bonus-point win. That outing included a victory over Himachal Pradesh by an innings and 97 runs.

The only talking point for the selectors was Shardul Thakur’s fitness. The all-rounder is recovering after fracturing his right middle finger during a pre-season match. The Hindu understands that a fitness update on Shardul is expected in the next couple of days. Even if the 35-year-old is cleared medically, he will be eased into the squad after gradually increasing his workload.

The squad named was: Siddhesh Lad (Capt.), Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Divyaansh Saxena, Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Suryansh Shedge and Suved Parkar. Aakash Anand (wk), Hardik Tamore (wk), Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Atharva Ankolekar, Tushar Deshpande, Mohit Avasthi, Sylvester D’Souza and Onkar Tarmale completed the list. The selection includes two designated wicketkeepers, Aakash Anand and Hardik Tamore.

The report was published on October 22, 2026 at 08:37 pm IST and updated on October 22, 2026 at 08:44 pm IST, with the location noted as Mumbai. The article also carried the publisher’s standard subscription and commenting information.

Mumbai will face Haryana in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match starting from Monday at the Sharad Pawar academy ground. The retained squad, with Shardul Thakur’s fitness to be assessed in the coming days, is set to prepare for that fixture.
