The Rohit announcement arrives amid fresh speculation about his international future. The 39-year-old has retired from T20Is and Test cricket but remains available for ODIs, and his place in the 50-over side came under the spotlight during India’s recent ODI series against England. There was talk that the third ODI at Lord’s might be his final appearance after a modest contribution in the second game in Cardiff.
