Sanju Samson hires out a cinema to watch Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 with family and friends

India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson booked an entire movie theatre to watch the Tamil film Jailer 2 with his wife and friends after missing the film on its release day, the cricketer said. He explained that an event in Delhi had prevented him from seeing the film earlier.
Samson, who has frequently spoken about his fondness for Rajinikanth’s films, said he was keen to catch Jailer 2 on the big screen. "I love watching Rajini sir's movies, and I always look forward to his next film. So, I'm actually a day late. I try to watch as many of his movies as possible. Yesterday, we had an event in Delhi, which is why I couldn't watch it," he said.
Describing the screening as a special occasion, Samson said he had secured the whole auditorium for the showing. "But today, fortunately, I was lucky enough to book the entire theatre. I've invited my friends, and my wife is here too. I'm very excited to watch Rajini sir on the big screen," he added.
A post shared by vishnudigitalmedia (@vishnudigitalmedia) documented the outing, noting the private nature of the screening and the attendees. The social post underlined that the cricketer had turned the film viewing into a group event for those close to him.
Samson also said members of the Indian team's support staff who speak Tamil would join the screening. "Everyone in the team and the support staff who knows Tamil is coming," he said.
The report noted that Rajinikanth's larger-than-life screen presence, signature mannerisms and mass appeal have made his releases major cinematic events, particularly in Tamil Nadu. The article framed Samson's booking as an expression of long-standing admiration rather than a routine film outing.
Samson's decision to organise a private screening was presented as likely to resonate with Rajinikanth fans, many of whom eagerly await each new release from the actor.
