Shivam Dube has been left out of India’s playing XI for the third T20I against West Indies at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, October 11, with the five-match series tied 1-1. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been named as Dube’s replacement and Prince Yadav comes into the side in place of Kuldeep Yadav.

India won the opening T20I, but West Indies levelled the series in Ranchi by chasing 250 in the second match. Shai Hope finished unbeaten on 102 off 45 balls and Sherfane Rutherford scored 84 off 37 as the visitors successfully reached the target. India’s bowlers conceded 250 in Ranchi, prompting the changes to the playing combination for the Indore game.

The selectors replaced Dube with Nitish Kumar Reddy and brought Prince Yadav into the XI for Kuldeep Yadav. The report states Nitish can contribute with both bat and ball and provides India another pace-bowling option.

Shivam Dube did not make a significant impact with either bat or ball in the second T20I, which contributed to his omission from the third-match XI. There has been no confirmation that Dube is injured; his absence appears to be a selection decision by the team management.

India will hope the new combination improves their ability to restrict the West Indies after conceding 250 in Ranchi, while West Indies will look to carry their batting form into the third T20I and seek a second consecutive win. Both sides enter the Indore match eager to take the lead in the series.

Dube will have to wait for another chance to feature in the remainder of the five-match series.

The winner of Sunday’s third T20I at Holkar Stadium will move 2-1 ahead in the five-match series.
