Snedeker says Trump 'gets all the credit' as US rallies to win Presidents Cup

The United States rallied to win the Presidents Cup 17-13 at Medinah on Sunday, securing an 11th consecutive title. Jacob Bridgeman clinched the victory by sinking a four-foot par putt at the 18th to defeat Australia’s Min Woo Lee 1-up.

The Americans had trailed 10.5-7.5 entering Sunday’s 12 concluding singles matches before producing the comeback. The US side included eight of the world’s 11 top-ranked golfers. The event was played on the same suburban Chicago layout where Europe staged the 2012 Ryder Cup Miracle at Medinah fightback.

Jacob Bridgeman’s four-foot par on the 18th delivered the point that sealed the 17-13 overall result and ended the contest on the final green. His putt put the finishing touch on a late run of United States singles wins during the concluding session.

“These guys never lost faith,” US captain Brandt Snedeker said. “I told the guys last night that funny stuff happens here. Medinah’s got a history of funny things happening, and sure enough, they went out there and played their asses off. I’m so damn proud of those guys.”

Trump was in attendance on the final day. “[Trump] told me I was going to bring some energy today for you guys. You guys need it,” Snedeker said. “And I told him if we did this, he gets all the credit. So thank you, President Trump.”

He had attended last year’s US Ryder Cup loss and added to his 2026 live sports viewing list that has included the World Cup final, the NBA finals, college football, UFC and IndyCar events plus various golf events.

The victory moved the United States to 14-1-1 in the biennial rivalry, while the Internationals—who had been poised to end a 28-year win drought—fell short once again.
