Sunrisers Leeds defeated Welsh Fire by 71 runs at Headingley in The Hundred men's competition on 9 August 2026, posting 201-4 before restricting Fire to 130-6.

The victory moved second-placed Sunrisers closer to qualification for the tournament's knockout stages and featured a 34-ball fifty from Mitch Marsh, the competition's leading run-scorer, his fourth half-century of the season; Marsh added 89 for the first wicket with Ryan Rickelton.

Sunrisers compiled 201-4 in their 100 balls with Marsh reaching 50 off 34 deliveries. Fifth-placed Fire, who would have moved to second with a win, remain the lowest of three teams on 16 points and will likely need success against London Spirit on Wednesday and then to rely on net run-rate to secure the final knockout spot. Nottingham hosts Monday's action in The Hundred, with Trent Rockets facing Southern Brave.

Sunrisers now need to avoid defeat against Manchester Super Giants on Tuesday to progress, and a victory would put them in contention for top spot should leaders Trent Rockets lose against Southern Brave on Monday.
