On August 17, 2026, Monday Night Raw in Buffalo, New York concluded the first round of the World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender's Tournament as Rey Fenix defeated El Fiscal and Dragon Lee defeated El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., with both advancing to the semi-finals.

The tournament will determine the challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns on the September 14 episode of Raw in Mexico City. Penta and La Parka had already secured their semi-final berths the prior week, with Penta advancing on Monday Night Raw and La Parka earning a spot on Saturday’s AAA show.

The semi-finals are set for the August 24 episode of Monday Night Raw, which will broadcast live from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Penta will meet AAA’s La Parka in the opening semi-final, while Rey Fenix will face Dragon Lee in the second; the winners of those matches will advance to the tournament final.
