Urvil Patel struck an unbeaten 210 off 227 balls for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 05, 2026, guiding his side to a 64-run victory over Kerala. He was named Player-of-the-Match for his innings.

The knock came as a preparation for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, with the innings described in coverage as a warm-up for the T20 tournament. Kerala were unable to recover after Patel’s assault, and his century formed the backbone of what the report called Gujarat’s massive innings. Patel has previously shown his big-hitting ability for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, a fact referenced in the original coverage.

Patel’s unbeaten 210 off 227 balls was described as a whirlwind double century and the cornerstone of Gujarat’s total, underpinning the 64-run margin of victory. The report noted that Gujarat did not want to bat again on the pitch, making a large first-innings total crucial to their strategy. The Narendra Modi Stadium hosted the match in Ahmedabad where Patel’s innings dominated proceedings.

"It was my maiden double century in First Class cricket and I am happy that it came in a winning cause. I am always an aggressive batter and I love to play my strokes. When I came in we were in a spot of bother but I didn’t want the bowlers to dominate me, so I decided to attack. It was important to get a partnership going and Vishal (Jayswal) played beautifully," he said.

"Kerala spinners were getting into a fine rhythm so I decided to attack and I took my chances against Aditya Sarvate. To be honest we didn’t want to bat again on this pitch so we needed to post a big total and it was important for me to continue batting till the end. It is a good win for us," he added.

"I hope to carry this form into SMAT and help my side win the tournament," he added.

Patel’s statement links the performance directly to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as the next confirmed competition he and his team are targeting, with the player expressing the intention to bring this form into that tournament.
