Vaibhav Sooryavanshi unlikely to play in India vs West Indies 3rd T20I in Indore

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is unlikely to feature for India in the third T20I against West Indies at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, October 11, the third match of the five-match series. The series is level at 1-1 heading into the Indore fixture.
India won the opening match of the series, while West Indies replied in the second T20I with a successful chase in Ranchi. West Indies chased down a target of 250 runs in that match, with Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford playing important roles in the chase. India’s batters have produced significant scores in the series so far: Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 102 in the opener, and Sanju Samson scored 82 off 41 balls in the second T20I as India posted 249/5.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has not featured in either of the first two matches and remains part of India’s squad. Given his lack of game time and the current XI choices, India may persist with the same playing combination for Indore. The final decision on the playing XI will be confirmed at the toss.
Sanju Samson’s 82 from 41 deliveries in Ranchi strengthened his place at the top of the order, and he has been paired as an opener alongside Abhishek Sharma. That performance could make it difficult for Sooryavanshi to displace the current opening combination before an important match in the series.
The West Indies chase in Ranchi exposed concerns in India’s bowling, with Hope and Rutherford key to the successful pursuit. India will be seeking improvements from its bowlers as it aims to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
The third T20I at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, October 11 will provide the teams an opportunity to gain the series lead, with final XIs to be confirmed at the pre-match toss.
