West Indies make 405-7, their highest ODI total, in Guwahati second ODI

West Indies scored 405-7 in the second ODI against India in Guwahati on 30 September 2026, their highest one-day international total; John Campbell (101), Shai Hope (104) and Amir Jangoo (114) each hit centuries in the innings.

The 405-7 eclipsed the Windies' previous best of 389, scored against England at St George's in 2019, and this was only the sixth instance in ODI history of a team producing three centurions in a single innings. Campbell also holds the record for the highest opening stand in ODIs, having put on 365 for the first wicket alongside Shai Hope against Ireland in 2019. For the second wicket in Guwahati Campbell and Hope added 110 in 79 balls before Hope and Jangoo shared a third-wicket partnership of 182. Campbell, a left-handed opener, struck five sixes in his century and took 22 off one Prasidh Krishna over.

West Indies 405-7 (50 overs): Jangoo 114, Hope 104, Campbell 101, a total compiled as the tourists dominated India's bowlers to post their highest ever one-day international score. The innings featured rapid scoring and substantial partnerships that laid the platform for the record total.

India's bowling attack suffered setbacks during the match, with Prasidh Krishna and Naman Dhir both picking up injuries. Paceman Auqib Nabi conceded 84 runs on debut, which was the fourth-most by an Indian winning his first ODI cap.

The Windies' run onslaught came less than a week after reports that their players must accept a 25% pay cut as part of wider cost-saving measures. The financial news preceded what was otherwise a standout batting performance by the touring side.

The two-time World Cup winners are also facing a battle to qualify directly for next year's competition, having been consigned to a qualifier in early 2027.
