WWE reveals matches for NXT Heatwave 2026 at Bert Ogden Arena on August 30

WWE has announced multiple matches for NXT Heatwave 2026, scheduled for Sunday, August 30, at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, featuring NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Gray and Women’s North American Champion Zaria among others. The promotion said the PLE will include title fights and a unification bout as part of the card.
Following SummerSlam, with no premium live events from WWE’s main roster this month, the developmental brand will close out August with the 12th edition of Heatwave. AAA’s Ola de Calor will be held at the same venue before Heatwave, and WWE’s event will run opposite AEW’s All In, which is set to emanate from Wembley Stadium in London and begin at 11:30 AM ET.
A planned number one contender’s match to determine Tony D’Angelo’s challenger featured Grayson Waller against former TNA World Champion Cruz Montana (Mike Santana), but the bout was interrupted when Zilla Fatu made his debut and attacked both competitors, causing the match to end in disqualification. WWE has not provided an update on who will challenge D’Angelo for the NXT Championship at Heatwave.
Kendal Gray retained the NXT Women’s Title in an NXT Underground match against Lola Vice and has agreed to defend the championship against Kelani Jordan. Gray granted Jordan a title opportunity at any time and any place; Jordan selected Texas and signed the contract to make the Heatwave title match official.
A title unification contest has also been set for the card, with Women’s North American Champion Zaria slated to face Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair. The match will unify the NXT Women’s North American and WWE Women’s Speed titles on the PLE.
WWE confirmed the event will be available to viewers in the United States on the CW Network and internationally on Netflix, excluding select markets, with coverage beginning at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT. Additional match announcements and booking updates for the NXT Heatwave card have been released by the promotion as the date approaches.
