Yuzvendra Chahal recreates Medhavi Bidhuri’s ‘6-7’ celebration during County Championship match at Old Trafford

Yuzvendra Chahal recreated Delhi women cricketer Medhavi Bidhuri’s viral ‘6-7’ celebration during Northamptonshire’s County Championship clash with Lancashire at Old Trafford in Manchester on August 23, 2026. He performed the gesture after dismissing Lancashire batter Joe Moores.
Playing for Northamptonshire, the veteran leg-spinner came around the wicket, beat Moores and crashed the ball into the stumps before adopting the ‘6-7’ celebration. Chahal finished the match with figures of 18.4-5-39-3 as Northants completed a 316-run victory over Lancashire, Northamptonshire’s first win at Old Trafford since 1999.
The ‘6-7’ gesture had first gained attention in the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026 through Medhavi Bidhuri, a right-arm leg-spinner from Delhi. Bidhuri produced the celebration after dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh during Central Delhi Queens’ tournament opener on August 20, when Nishika was caught by Arushi Goel at mid-wicket in the 16th over.
Bidhuri finished that match with figures of 2/24 from four overs and Central Delhi Queens lost by 29 runs. The number 67 on Bidhuri’s back attracted attention; she had initially wanted jersey No. 12 but, finding it taken, wore 67 after a suggestion from her younger sister.
“This ‘six-seven’ thing is trending a bit, and my younger sister, who’s like a brother to me, told me to wear jersey number 67 and keep this as my celebration,” Bidhuri said after the match. The Delhi Premier League T20 account also shared a post referencing her celebration and the jersey number (A post shared by Delhi Premier League T20 (@delhipremierleaguet20)).
On August 23, Bidhuri repeated the gesture after dismissing East Delhi Riders batter Vanshika Lila, returning figures of 4-0-26-1 while Central Delhi Queens lost that game by 19 runs. Chahal’s post replicating the celebration was also shared on his account (A post shared by Yuzvendra Chahal (@yuzi_chahal23)).
With Chahal performing the ‘6-7’ celebration at Old Trafford, Bidhuri’s gesture has moved from the Women’s Delhi Premier League to the County Championship in England.
